  1. Here are 10 FREE image hosts: Pimp and Host, Image Venue , Image Twist, Pic Pie, Post Images, Imgur, Thong Loader, Keep4U, Pic Hoster, My Air Bridge The images below are simply examples to show how the images look, and to prove that these hosts work on this forum. It took a matter of seconds to post each image, you can also add multiple images at a time. Note: Make sure to copy and paste the "BBcode" otherwise it may not work.
  2. The way I see it, the site is for real life cam fans, which I believe is more of a genre than a brand name. If the site was livecamfans, and there was a livecams.com, I wouldn't assume that livecamfans.com was a fan site for livecams.com. At least that's how i've always viewed it. The previous owner actually used the RLC logo on the site which I thought was big no no, so I quickly changed it to what it is now.
  3. The latest version of the forum software was released this week, and it has some great new features. I will likely be doing the upgrade in the next couple of weeks. It's a complete version upgrade not just a service pack. One the new features is the ability to create create "clubs" which are essentially private groups. I will provide more details later, but it has a lot of new features that I think will be very beneficial for us.
  4. 1. We are aware of the risks and will tread carefully. I am not going to discuss this any further in a public setting. 2. I agree. I believe that a lot of that has to do with the viewing limit that I discussed in a previous post. Put it this way, up until yesterday the only significant change to the site was the implementation of the viewing limits several months ago. Unless people suddenly became less interested in RLCF for no particular reason, I believe that the viewing limits are what lead to the significant drop in traffic. It also hurt our search ranking because it prevented Google and other web crawlers from being able to access all of our pages. 3. The forum here has never been all that active at least compared to CamCaps, and in many ways that makes sense. CamCaps has been around longer, they have a larger community, and they have a higher Google ranking. I think that point 2 addresses some of this as well. That being said, the chat here is far more popular than the one on CamCaps. 4. That's up to you. We don't monitor the messenger system unless we get a report about something. I appreciate your input. I've heard your concerns and complaints. What are your suggestions?
  5. I appreciate you bringing this up we will address it appropriately.
  6. We can have a discussion about this in private, but you should have the same authority as you did when you started. The main difference between Admin and Moderators is the ability to make changes to the site itself rather than just managing users.
  7. The chat box issue and general lack of traffic are in my opinion the result of poor management on my part. Several months ago (6+), we instituted a policy that restricted the amount of pages that guests could view to 6. At the time this was done to encourage people to register, and to prevent guest from abusing the site. We also regularly had several hundred people on the site at any given time so the loss of some traffic wasn't a huge deal. However, that policy was never reviewed nor was I paying close enough attention to the analytics. I think that this policy turned a lot of people away over time, and didn't give potential new members enough time to get a feel for what we have to offer. Hell, I don't know that I would stick around or revisit a site that forced me to register after only seeing six pages. I have now disabled that policy which will hopefully encourage more people to join and participate.
  8. I think the new normal will be that people will make better use of third-party hosts and content will start coming back. However, the content on the third party hosts won't last as long, so you'll have to check back more frequently to catch things before they are taken down. I think we will also see an increase in traffic and hopefully more participation now that the guest view limits are removed. But who knows? I've certainly been wrong before.
  9. We plan on making third-party hot-linking/embedding easier and more intuitive.
  10. What do you mean empty chat box? There was no action taken against the chat box. The gallery will come back but we won't be allowing direct uploads of RLC content. As to the deleted posts they are being restored we are just removing images that have been uploaded to the server. As for posting pictures, you still have the ability to post content you just need to use a third party host like Postimage.org or Imgur. On a side note, I have removed the guest viewing restrictions from the site; which I think had a very detrimental effect on things. People would come to the site, hit the six page limit and then leave (the analytics data makes this very clear). With the restriction gone hopefully traffic will pick back up.
  11. I will provide updates in a few days.
  12. As you may have noticed RLCF was unavailable for approximately 36 hours. This downtime was the direct result of RLC filing a DMCA complaint against the site. Our host completely disabled the server and initially told me that they wouldn't even allow me to get the files off of it. This would have resulted in a near loss of the site as the only backups that I had on hand were almost a year old. I did have backups running but they were attached to the previous hosting account, and when they disabled the server they disabled my access to the backups as well. After some pleading I was able to get them to allow me 24 hours to move the files off of the old server. So here we are, we are on a new server that is actually much better than the old one. However, I am left with no choice but to ban any RLC content from being uploaded to the site directly. I have removed the gallery feature as it was almost entirely comprised of RLC material. I may re-enable the gallery in the near future but users will not be able to upload any RLC content to it. I hate to have to do this, but as I see it we either lose the whole site or we stop allowing RLC material to be uploaded. That being said, we will still allow embeds and links from other sites, so if you would like to post something here you'll just have to use a third-party host. We will enable direct posting for non-rlc boards in the coming days. As for you premium members I ask that you bear with us. In the near future we will likely add premium member only boards that may have fewer restrictions, but we are still working on a strategy for that. I respectfully ask that you give us a few days to lick our wounds so that we can figure out a strategy to move forward. This all happened very suddenly and I as well as @StnCld316 have spent many hours over the last few days dealing with this, we came VERY close to losing the site entirely. I appreciate your continued support and I hope that you'll stick with us. This change helps to ensure the long term survival of the site, and I think it will work out in the end. And of course, there are no laws against talking about things, so feel free share your comments, thoughts and ideas. Thank You, - A
  13. My plan was to make an official announcement when it was ready to go live. I am waiting on approval from our payment processor before doing anything more with it, and they need to see a live version in order to make a determination.
  14. The previous Shoubox doesn't work with the current version of the forum software. I am exploring options for a full featured chat program, but that likely won't have the archive feature that you are referring to.
  15. I am still working on it, but the idea behind it is that there will be a virtual currency "credits" that will enable people to "buy" and trade digital items. You might have also noticed the new "Downloads" section where you can upload items and "sell" them for credits. When it is fully implemented it will function like a virtual economy where the more you share, the more you earn, which will enable you to "buy" more items from other people. A key benefit of this is that in order to "buy" items you must have credits, which eliminates "freeloaders" , and gives the uploader a direct reward for sharing. This will be an optional thing for those who want to use it. My plan is to add some virtual gift cards to the "market" so that you can trade your credits for real money, and/or add exclusive content that can be "purchased" with credits.
  16. They don't have to leave. They just can't access the gallery. They can still use the forum as they normally would.
  17. I am working on this. Ideally users will be presented with a notice as soon as they register.
  18. Starting November 1st we will no longer be offering Hero memberships. Currently, Hero memberships are obtained by making 30 posts, and grant free access to the gallery. We now have over 1000 hero members which is a significant amount of "Free" users. After November 1st the only way to obtain access to the Gallery will be to pay the annual membership fee of $12. Current Hero members will retain access to the Gallery indefinitely. The reason for this change is that costs of running the site have increased, and we can no longer afford to have so many free users. Thank You, - A
  19. Depraved Media LLC. is the owner of ReallifecamFan.Com and CamCaps.Net. I generally don't discuss DMCA issues publicly. However, when we receive DMCA requests we follow the law and remove the offending content. If you're seeing broken links or missing images it is likely that the file host has removed the content.
  20. This should be fixed now. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. - A
  21. Reallifecamfan is now using site wide HTTPS. This adds a layer of security and privacy when visiting the site. Let me know if you run into any issues with it. Thank You, Admin
  22. All, I received a message today from BTR's account claiming that he was killed in a "rode accident". I am working to verify the authenticity of the message. He hasn't posted since the end of June, though it appears he logged in as recently as 7 days ago. I am not really sure what's going, but I have demoted him to a Moderator for the time being. I am bringing on @StnCld316 to the moderating team to help fill the void. StnCld316 is a great moderator/Admin, and someone that I consider a friend. Please welcome him to the team. Thank You, - Admin
  23. Unfortunately, it isn't possible do that. That best I could do would be to enable you to scroll back 100 - 500 comments. The shoutbox feature is an addon that is not part of the forum software.
  24. The software update is complete. Please take note of the following: 1. The "shoutbox" is completely new. It may look similar but it's an entirely different product with entirely different code. Not all features from the old one are available. However, there are some new features 2. I had to choose between keeping either display names or usernames. I opted with usernames. This means that if you had a display name that was different from your username it will no longer be there. That being said you can set your display name back to what it was in your profile. 3. We are still tweaking things. Please let me know if you run into any issues.
  25. No leadership changes have been made. We did a major upgrade of the forum software which resulted in some changes. You can change your display name in your profile.
