They remind me of Koala bears. Male and female attract each other through loud bellows and scents, (paul never bathes) The mating ritual is not long and

 the male is often seen biting the female on the back of the neck.(begging not biting) The mating process last two minutes or less and than they go their  own way, mating can uses up a lot of energy and the koala doesn't  have much to spare, if the koala feels stressed or they don't have enough food then they may avoid mating.                  

From what I understood, he accuses her of whoring not only for attention... But still, their relationship seems pretty good to me. They do speak with each other and he gets to see her naked and even touch her, which is what most of us dream to do.
