I'd also recommend camtasia. It serves it's purpose. But Jing has a cleaner interface and performs a lot better. 

Can we have some details, for the hard of thinking like me, as to what the preferred formats for this forum are when posting video's/pics.

I don't believe there are any specific formats for pictures, however, we ask that videos be converted to mp4 so everyone has the opportunity to view them.
