Look at Reddit and how many rooms try and control the flow and end up with moderators who are really not allowing free flowing conversation, but driving people out of sub-reddits because they ban people for saying things that are true, a perfect example of cancel culture. If that's what you want, then you end up with a chat room that is only occupied by single minded people who allow no outside convo. So your complaint should not be about the chatters. Your frustration sounds more to do with the platform themselves and how they have "changed" and manage.
